I am currently a sophomore at Davidson College, a liberal arts school near Charlotte, North Carolina. I am studying towards a Bachelor of Arts in political science, and intend to soon declare a French & Francophone Studies minor. However, my primary interest is in civil discourse.
I am an avid musician, participating in three different organizations on campus: Davidson Androgyny A Capella, Vocal Performance with the Davidson College Music Department, and the Davidson College Saxophone Quartet. With these organizations I am able to regularly perform in front of live audiences ranging in sizes from a dozen people to as many as several hundred. On average I spend 6 to 7 hours a week rehearsing for these performances.
For many years I have had an interest in communication, and recently was hired to be a Speaking Center at Davidson College's Center for Teaching and Learning. Through this resource I am connected with a myriad of communication-oriented opportunities on campus, which I use to further my interest in civil discourse.
Davidson College is loosely affiliated to the Presbyterian Church (USA), of which I am a member. I am currently in the process of transferring my church membership to Davidson College Presbyterian Church, which should be finalized on October 15th, 2017. Almost every week I attend UKirk, Davidson College's campus Presbyterian group, in order to keep in touch with my faith through my college career.
Finally, I work two to three days a week, for an average of 10-14 hours a week, at the CVS in downtown Davidson. While at CVS my job title is Clerk/Cashier, but due to my status as a student I am considered to be more of a flexible worker, and typically do jobs normally assigned to Shift Supervisors to help the actual Shift Supervisors complete all of their assignments.
Thank you! I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
